Training

·   Since the very beginning of the dog training we are taking care of teaching the dog to train for pleasure and not for a reward in a form of a tidbit. Every proper working dog is training for pleasure and the training itself and a praise - caressing by it's owner - are the greatest reward for it.

·   If some dog is good even without any training, it is the merit of it's ancestors who worked and fought very much in the Middle Ages.

·   Training is advisable and suitable in a certain degree only. An excessive training is overtaxing the dog and is making a half-robot of it that is blindly reacting to the commands (maybe pronounced by a stranger too) and on the other way round, absence of any training makes the life with the dog almost impossible since the dog does not obey at all. Therefore only a basic training - obedience - is suitable („Sit!“, „Get down!“, „Stand!, „Stay!“, „Bark!“, „Give paw!“, „Jump!“, „Retrieve!“) and defense (teasing and biting on a leash) plus a minimum of tracking eventually (that is not fully necessary).

·   When tracking training, the dog must be a slightly hungry, for example without a breakfast, but it is a big fault to let it be hungry for a longer time, for example for two or even for three days because this does harm to it - it can be too weak. If it likes tracking, to be a little hungry will do and if it does not like tracking, then teach it to like it or not to track with it and train with it what it likes to train instead.

·   Whatever you train with your dog please try to cease just “when it goes in the best way to keep your dog in loving that (to be looking forward to the next training in the next time). This means that if it is retrieving, for example, we let it do that three or four times even if it wanted to do that let's say five times more. Despite this, we end the exercise and then your dog will be looking forward to the moment when it will be allowed to retrieve again next time. Never make your dog bored by many times repeating exercise because you will make that ugly for it. Train long enough to make your dog not to forget about that and to repeat the exercise regularly but so little at the same time to prevent it from becoming supersaturated by that.

·   When the dog does not obey some command, the „Stay! command for example, and it is leaving the place where you let it stay in, then let you return to that place and command your dog to stay there and do it as long as it will stay there. Good nerves are required and you must teach your dog by means of your own patience, and everytime it obeys let you fondle it and play with it.

·   Keep your dog away from jumping over obstacles of a metal construction. There are known cases when dogs tore their bell while jumping over them.

·   It is suitable to teach your dog a command that could be used if somebody bothers you. It may be „Attention!“ or „Hold!“ together with your raised hand pointing at the human that bothers you. The dog then has to start to bark at the human at least or attack him better.

·   When your dog run away from you and ignores your calling, do not punish it when it will return back to you later. Only reprove it slightly and let it be released only where are no impulses for it to run to that and where you knows that it will return back to you as soon as you call it. Then let you praise it properly and fondle with it. Possibly, one day it's obey to your command will also be better even there where your dog uses to run away from you. Treat your dog in such a way to make it be looking forward to your calling to return to you to be fondled. But do not give it a tidbit as a reward for it's returning back to you because it may not obey you in the next time.

·   When the dogs have learned to obey some respective commands which are pronounced forcefully, as a rule, they sometimes might also obey a stranger if he will pronounce one of them strongly. Therefore it is better to train your dog by your own way and to have some gestures and own commands (your own specific behavior) which are not ordinary used with dogs.
