Number One In Dog Fighting

!!! REAL DOG FIGHTING IS TOO DANGEROUS TO DOGS AND HAS TO BE STOPPED !!!

Disclaimer: This writing arose from discussion forums about dogs and from personal experiences / opinions of several people and serves educational purposes only. It's goal is to inform the reader about our personal opinions on this subject, but on the first place about the cruelness and uselessness of real dog fighting. We would like to evoke in him antipathy toward these bloody and inhuman practices. The photos placed in this chapter (most of them we received via email and of course, the people did not tell their real name) have an informational character only. We wished to let people know our meaning of this cruel and illegal "sport" but we also tried to find out which breeds of dog are stronger fighters than the other. But we do not warrant or assume any legal liability or responsibility for the accuracy, completeness, safety or usefulness of any posted information. Anyway, if you would see this cruel dog fighting in your vicinity or know who fights his or her dogs, please report it to ASPCA, RSPCA or to your local Police Department.

In the older version of this book, I put English- and Spanish Mastiff on the highest position (together with CO-type of dogs). Mr. Pavel let heard himself in this way: „Mr. Kastl, please do not take this couple of Mastiffs for the best fighters. Although they are strong dogs, they are too heavy, clumsy, and they do not have a good stamina neither a long range of other preconditions. I have seen a video where a very movable English Mastiff plays with a Kangal female. And she swaps with him in such a way that you would not believe. Surely a Neapolitan Mastiff has better qualities, it is more rapid, more aggressive and has a quickfire mouth hold.“ In view of all what I have got to know, both English and Spanish Mastiff are very strong dogs and now and then they can beat almost any other dog. Simply said, they are underestimated.

Mr. “Trocha do mlyna” makes it even more precise: „We cannot claim that it is about the power of dogs, but it is the ability to fight. If I would be to class doggy warriors, so if we would consider the superiority of weight, then we find CO, Tosa and Bully Kutta in the first group.”

Caucasian Owtcharka versus Central Asian Owtcharka fight, and the fight between two Central Asian Owtcharkas (by Dima Korotayev, Pressphotos agency http://www.pressphotos.net/):

CAO vs CO

Here we can see a CAO destroying a Pitbull by it's deadly mouth hold:

And there are both Central Asian and Caucasian Ovcharka beating Pitbulls:

Also some Ovcharkas can fight for a long time. Here is a Caucasian Ovcharka female who destroyed a gamebred Pitbull after 41 minutes lasting fight:

Fights of Ovcharka vs Pitbull type are popular, however, a lot of Russian wise men claim that it has no price to set these dogs against each other due to difference in their size and behavior and rules according to which they use to fight. I belive that these men are right, so maybe it is better to stop these fights:

„CAO and Pitbull belong to the second one (“gamebred” lines are more combative but the other are less efficient, so that I would include them into the third group and I would keep CAO already in the first one, because CO vs CAO could be about 6:4 which is similar - comment) with American Bulldog, Bandog, Dogo Argentino and Fila Brasileiro. The third group would include Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, RTW, GSD, Akita (I did not include Bull Mastiff and so on, I do not know how they make a war and how they use their advantage of weight)."

Then he still adds: „You know, there are many doggy machines (Boerboel alias Burish Bulldog, Siberian Defense Dog alias Siberian Mastiff, Sindh Mastiff, Afghan Sage Koochee, Tibetan Mastiff, American Allaunt and other - comment) and who knows how many of them are still arising through cross-breeding. It is hardly possible to say who and where belongs to. But I am still convinced that Natural breeds belong to the “top” from the reason of their many hundreds of years lasting training with animal opponents. The fight was never stopped by the owners, but who will survive it was the thing that mattered. Only the best ones remained.“

Low-quality photos of a fighting Bully Kutta (it overpowers at least 80% of gamebred Pitbulls and almost all the other breeds) from Pakistan, my thanks go to a man that is called “Shah”:

Mr. Pavel affirms: „If taken generally, then even if the Caucasian Owtcharka is not the most combative dog in the world, it hardly finds an equal competitor thanks to it's power, swiftness and anatomical possibilities.“ As far as the strongest breeds in dog fighting, Mr. “Trocha do mlyna”, personally, would go with the version that: „If we do not consider the individual (an exceptionally strong individual of other breed – comment), the Caucasian or the CAO would be the not-overpowered.“ I personally would rather go with the CO because it has a long tail in contrast with the CAO (a better movement co-ordination) and a thicker coat that saves it better a bit. Also “Trocha do mlyna” agrees with that: „Though they have their tails taken off (CAOs – comment), so as it has already been said, their future owners (better said barbars) keep their tails long for the purpose of being better at fight (to co-ordinate better).“ As far as dropped tails and ears concern, when the dog is missing it's tail, it can really worsen it's co-ordination of movement, especially during a repeated and quick turning around. However, cut ears do not hold it's movement down, but sometimes can badly influence it's state of health (the wind or cold can get into it's ears and it can have a headache).

One woman said to Mr. Pavel: "Though I have a CO, I would not let it freely fight other animal! Why are you so much excited by that, why are you always solving that? And Mr. Pavel explained to her: „Nice Missis, if no one let his CO fight other animal before you, today you had no CO (such as it is - comment)! Think!“

Caucasian Ovcharka Vs Rottweiler (CO won):

dog fighting caucasian ovcharka dog fighting Caucasian Owtcharka

If we speak about who has the highest percent of the probability to leave a fight not-defeated, to main opinion it is just the Caucasian Ovcharka too (big, strong, movable, the combination of the wolfdogs movability with the power of Molossian breeds joined with a big height and weight, free skin and thick coat that protects it), further another ones similar to it (Akbash, Central Asian Ovcharka, Kangal) and one millimeter lower also the breeds like Bully Kutta, Boerboel, Sindh Mastiff and Tosa Inu, partially also Tibetan Mastiff, Bandogge as well as Fila Brasileiro, English Mastiff, Spanish Mastiff, American Bulldog, Presa, gamebred Pitbull (also gamebred English Bull Terrier and gamebred American Staffordshire Terrier), and the better ones out of Neapolitan Mastiffs, Bull Mastiffs and Dogues de Bordeaux and already in a smaller degree also the best Rottweilers. In some giant Molossers like English mastiff or Spanish mastiff (great power, height and weight, though less combativeness) it is hard to class them as dog vs dog fighters. First they are not used for it, second it is difficult to estimate their combativeness and stamina when a long-lasting fight, eventually. Nevertheless, they can win as they use to prove it from time to time.

Why I am not including American Pit Bull Terrier, English Bull Terrier and American Staffordshire Terrier among "the number one in dog fighting"? Such a gameness in these small breeds of dog, which is able to stand against the other sometimes even much larger breeds of dog listed in this chapter, is very rarely occuring. Today, the majority individuals of these smaller breeds of dog does not posses any gameness and would probably lose to the majority individuals of the larger breeds mentioned in this chapter. And as for those who have the gameness, it often deals with a so-called "Pyrrhic victory" (the small dog is more wounded than the larger one and after the fight when the attack of his gameness perished, he can be unable to stand on his feet, he can be ill for a long time and similarly). It also depends on the dog fighting rules. If the rule that the dog is the winner who wants to fight for a longer time than it's opponent, the gamebred pitbull-like breeds can win, but if the rule that the winner is he who did the bigger damage to the other dog, then the winner would more often be a bigger and heavier dog.

One more thing: If the fight is taking place in the conditions of Nature, there where is a lack of food, colds and exhaustion from straining in a demanding terrain, all the big wolfhounds are unrivalledly on the first place.

I have asked Mr. Oguz: What is the reason for dog fighting in your country? To have puppies after the strongest dogs, to know which breed or kennel is stronger or better, to keep fighting readiness of dogs...? And he wrote back: „Some people do it for money, others to keep dogs in shape. They sell Kangals, they have to be strong and good fighters. People want that.”  My another question was „Is Kangal stronger than Tosa? Mr. Oguz answered: „I think, yes. Both are good fighters, but Kangals have a slight advantage.”  My reaction: „So we can say Kangal vs Tosa 6/10?”, therewith this answer followed: „Yes.”  I continued: „And what about Kangal vs CO?” Mr. Oguz answered: „I don't know. COs can be pretty strong. It depends on the individual. It is necessary to add, that a puppy from Kangal fighting line costs at least 2.000,- USD. But the truth is that Kangals as wolfdogs are not used for fighting in the ring, they turned out to be better fighters in open areas.

The following photo was sent by "Kangal666":

When two Kangals fight, it looks like that:

Here we can see Kangals overpowering Pitbulls:

Mr. Oguz, a kind of an expert on dog fighting, is comparing Pit Bull Terrier and Tosa to Kangal in this way:

„APBT, Tosa true canine warriors? Kangals have a MUCH harder life than any fighting dog!!!

Fighting dogs don't fight every day. Kangals do!!

Fighting dogs don't have to work in -30 degree celcius, Kangals do!

Fighting dogs don't have to work in 40 degree celcius, Kangals do!

Fighting dogs don't have to fight wolfpacks, bears, leopards, Kangals do!

Fighting dogs don't stay weeks without food or water, Kangals do!

Now tell me, does the APBT look like a canine warrior compared with Kangals? NO!!

It was also talked of the dog's weight necessary to resist it's opponents and Mr. “Nerosekdas” said about it: „It will fully be sufficient a certain weight border when the dog is able to stand the chest impacts of other dog (many dogs do that) and the entire affection of the other dog's power.“ My opinion is that this weight border is 100 pounds and more. Maybe it can be said that every breed that has at least some fighting endowments and the weight above a quintal is able to successfully fight the other dogs.

Some people claim that fights use to be won by dogs with the highest “game” (combativeness). But for example the Caucasian simply grasps the other dog (maybe a gamebred one) and tears it to two pieces regardless of whether or not it has or has not the gameness. And what use had the game for the defeated dog? If it had not any, it could give up and survive. But because it had that, it dies, because it only had the gameness which is not sufficient itself, and it had nothing more what is necessary for dog fighting too: a necessary height, weight, rapidness, sense for the weak point of the opponent, free skin and thick coat.

On the Near East, people who are living in the villages let their dogs fight to discover which one is better and to keep their combativeness (photos by “Gatman”, Afghan Koochee vs Kangal for the first, then Estrela Mountain Dogs and Sarplaninacs for the last):

So-called "mixed fights" are very popular. A lot of the breeds of dog (or sometimes even their crosses), best in dog fighting, are matched with each other to recognize, which of them can fight better. The following pictures show us a dog fighting tournament. It is supposed that the first fight is Kangal Vs Tosa Inu cross, the second is Caucasian Versus Kangal, the third is Estrela Mountain Dog Vs Central Asian Ovtcharka, the fourth is a Mastiff x giant Shepherd cross Vs Central Asian Ovtcharka (Alabai), the fifth is Kangal Vs rather Caucasian than Sarplaninac, the sixth is Akbash Versus Caucasian and the seventh is Caucasian Vs Central Asian:

Tosa Inu Vs. CAO

Already for a long time, many people were hassling over the fighting ability of single breeds of dog. But the truth of this that we found is simple. Both large short-coated and large long-coated Molossers can be excellent fighters including the crosses of these two groups. Any of them can be a good and strong fighter. However, if we take into account their entire performance from more aspects, then large wolfdogs should be little better most of the time, but nothing more nothing less (the reason is that they are less degenerated and fight more often than the large short-coated Molossers). Anyway, any good dog whether a large short- or long-coated Molosser can be the one who will win.

Note:

Central Asian Ovcharka is the most common fighter and is more often used for dog fighting than Caucasian Ovcharka (it is necessary to add, that the Russians themselves sometimes quarrel over what to call a CO, what a CAO and when it is better to say Ovcharka or when Volkodav; it seems that a shorter-coated caucasian form is more often called Caucasian Volkodav whereas a longer-coated form more common in the world is rather called Caucasian Ovcharka).

American Pit Bull Terrier, if a top and gamebred (the absolute majority of Pitbulls are not gamebred and any good big wolfdog can beat them), can sometimes beat any other breed of dog including Volkodavs, but above all in the case if the bigger opponent do not want to fight such a small dog like the Pit Bull, if it does not manage to damage the Pit Bull within first minutes of the fight or if it does not have the temperament or stamina to fight for a longer time.

Above all, I showed in this book what the best breeds of dog are capable of. There are many videos where the Pitbull won and there are many when it losed (and that we speak of a rare fighting Pitbull and not about a much weaker Petbull that is most common). This book is like the pride of the breeds of dog that I consider to be the best, therefore it's content is rather prejudiced.

Above all, I am against the gameness as it is a nonsense that prevents dogs from being excellent defenders of their owners, because the more is the dog aggressive towards the other dogs and the more it fights them, the lower defense ability it ussually has.

As for the comparison of particular large wolfdogs, I believe it has no sense to investigate if a Kangal can beat a Caucasian more often than the other way round and similarly, because the performance of all the big wolfdogs is similar.

I have written a poem "Caucasian Volkodav", but I am not saying that it is the strongest fighter, the poem can be valid for all the other largest wolfdogs as well. But it is one of the strongest nonetheless.

I am often rightfully called a "Pitbull hater". I have known a man who was putting down all the other breeds of dog excluding the Pitbull, I have helped to train one pitbull and his bite force as well as power was not anyhow big, I have seen the stupid behavior of a game Pitbull that is against the laws of Nature. Anyway, it is the Pitbull makers who started a dog fighting war by trying to put their APBT above all the other breeds of dog. And do not wonder that many breeders of larger breeds of dog began to feel offended and set their stronger dogs against the Pitbull. Then there were many dog figths because of it.
